SynCon Technologies Limited is an independent consulting company that specializes in providing professional networking services, and messaging systems. We currently have an opening for a Help Desk Support Specialist. The successful candidate will be awarded a contract for the position.
Job Description
The IT Help Desk Support Specialist will serve as the initial point of contact for issues relating to IT/IS services. They will be responsible for logging tickets, basic troubleshooting, password resets, basic over-the-phone training, and act as an escalation point for higher level issues.
Responsibilities
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide first line technical support via phone, email or in person
- Troubleshoot and resolve most hardware, software and telephones issue over the telephone
- Escalate difficult support issues which cannot be solved by the Support Specialist to Systems Engineers when necessary
- Responsible for managing user accounts (including password resets, account unlocks, etc.)
- Responsible for maintaining tape backup system and tape rotation policies
- Document every IT support service request, status update and final resolution using IT Service Desk software
- Assist other IT staff members with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of computers, telephones, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines
Education and/or Experience
- Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a technical degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in a technological oriented environment with emphasis on user support and troubleshooting
- Experience working with MS Windows, PCs, and LAN management.
