IT Help Desk Support Specialist

SynCon Technologies Limited is an independent consulting company that specializes in providing professional networking services, and messaging systems. We currently have an opening for a Help Desk Support Specialist. The successful candidate will be awarded a contract for the position.

Job Description
The IT Help Desk Support Specialist will serve as the initial point of contact for issues relating to IT and IS services. They will be responsible for logging tickets, basic troubleshooting, password resets, basic over-the-phone training, and act as an escalation point for higher level issues.

Responsibilities
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the inventory of computer, components, and accessories
  • Install and upgrade of software on desktops and laptops
  • Remotely troubleshoot and resolve all hardware and software related issues for desktops and laptops.
  • Create user accounts for access to network resources and applications
  • Change user passwords and unlocking of accounts
  • Ensure that overnight backups are completed successfully


Education and/or Experience

  • Requires a Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or a technical degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a technological oriented environment with emphasis on user support and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with MS Windows, PCs, and LAN management.

VM Group Donates Networking Equipment to CIS

On Friday, November 2, the Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Northern Caribbean University received a donation of networking equipment from The VM Group. The donation included switches, routers, and a firewall. They will be used to enhance the networking curriculum and aid in the effort to provide effective, efficient and relevant support and training to our students.
