Vacancy: Frontend Developer

Responsibilities of a frontend developer consist of the translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders


Skills And Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Knowledge of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Good understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS 
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools such as Photoshop or GIMP
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • A good understanding of the code versioning tool, Git
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.

Employment Opportunity: Ecommerce Executive/Website Administrator


Role: E-commerce Executive/Website Administrator
Location: Mandeville, Jamaica
Hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Compensation: to be agreed upon
Start date: ASAP

The Blackslate Holdings Group Limited is looking for an experienced Executive with dual website administrator and E-commerce skill sets to work closely with the Group Marketing Manager. The main purpose of the role is to develop and manage multiple e-commerce platforms to maximize the revenue potential for the company. You will be responsible for uploading content, copy and imagery to maximize the impact of each site.

This is a contracted position.

Duties:

  • Management of various E-commerce platforms
  • Taking responsibility for building the e-commerce sites; uploading new product descriptions, content and imagery.
  • Pricing items and updating any pricing changes
  • Conducting competitor research to price items
  • Manage social media channels and provide digital marketing support
  • SEO / PPC optimisation
  • Manage emails marketing campaigns

Experience:

  • Graduate calibre or equivalent
  • Practical experience in a comparable digital marketing role with demonstrable success in managing and developing ecommerce shopping channels
  • Experience in the use of SEO/PPC to maximise profitable sales performance against budgets
  • Designed and delivered social media and email campaigns to profitably recruit and retain target customers
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to work unsupervised for much of the time after training is completed.
