So, who are we looking for?

Frontend Developers (UI/UX)

  • Expert in HTML+, CSS+, CoffeeScript, MooTools, JavaScript (and jQuery+plugins)
  • Able to solve cross-browser compatibility issues
  • Ability to create mobile compatible and responsive website designs.
  • AngularJS, Node.js, PHP/Ruby/Python experience is a plus
  • Experience working with Twitter Bootstrap or Zurb Foundation
  • Eye for design
  • Urgency, initiative, integrity, strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with git and Github or Bitbucket as a version control tool is a plus.
  • Ability to work as part of a distributed team in a self-directed way.
  • Be available in an emergency.

Backend Developers

  • Object Oriented Programming in PHP 5.4+ (SOLID principles)
  • Laravel Framework v4.2+
  • PostgreSQL, MySQL (or strong relational database experience)
  • CSS+ and preprocessors (LESS preferred)
  • CoffeeScript, MooTools, JavaScript (and jQuery+plugins)
  • BONUS: Experience with the latest web technologies (Node.js, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Zurb Foundation, SASS/LESS CSS).

Strong Preference

  • PHPUnit (and Mockery)
  • Working knowledge of Git (and Bitbucket)
  • Experience with deployment systems (Laravel Forge)
  • 3rd Party API integrations (SOAP + REST)


Java Developers

  • 2+ years of Java (Core) and Java web development experience
  • Strong understanding of OOP, Design Patterns (MVC, etc.) and/or Enterprise Integration Patterns.
  • Knowledge of building and interacting with RESTful APIs is a plus.
  • Experience with the Play! framework is a plus.

REMUNERATION RANGE: - 83% - 96%

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
·            Serves as technical manager for 4+ scanning stations and provides technical assistance and support to the digitization network and other system users
·            Assist with system administration tasks as it relates to records management using SharePoint/Office 365, PowerShell, SQL Server, and other content management tools.
·            Works closely with Information System Services (ISS) in ongoing development of the Digital Archive & Records Center, utilizing SharePoint
·            Assists ISS in development of data entry applications for the Yearbook and Statistical data-collection and publication processes
·            Assists supervisor in developing strategies for more effective capture and preservation of electronic records
·            Coordinates the development and support of web applications built using ASP.NET, ASP Classic, XML/XSLT, Java, SQL Server, SharePoint and ModX
·            Jointly (with the Assistant Archivist) curates and develops digital content of ASTR public websites, using e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or similar applications
·            Provides technical support for publication of Seventh-day Adventist Yearbook and Annual Statistical Report, and contributes to publication of General Conference Archives Finding Aids
·            Supports preparation of graphic and audiovisual presentations by ASTR staff, using, e.g.,PowerPoint
·            Works collaboratively to undertake statistical analysis; if need be, temporarily supervises other staff members during short-term projects
·            Supports supervisor in responding to document requests from within the world headquarters building, using Versatile Enterprise and MS Access databases
·            Assist supervisor and director in providing training in archives, records management and digitization for world divisions, denominational tertiary educational institutions, and NAD unions (as needed)
·            Performs other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE






  • Four-year college degree required (with preference for BA in history or BSc in computer/information science);
  • Master’s degree (MA/MSc) in Library Science, Information Technology, Archives and Records Management or Computer Science desired. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of one or more database and/or website application development environments.
  • Experience with several of the technologies/applications outlined above, including SharePoint. Work experience in records-management or archiving. Proven ability to write for publication.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES




  • Good working knowledge of programming concepts, database design and web application design and construction. 
  • Ability to assist departmental staff with technology related issues and work in conjunction with ISS. 
  • Must have the aptitude to adapt to the departmental needs, particularly in the area of technology. 
  • Knowledge and skill in appropriate methods of dealing with human behavior in various circumstances, including interacting with tour groups. 
  • Advanced command of language skills including verbal and written proficiency.

Job Opportunity: IT Infrastructure Administrator


The IT Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the performance, integrity and security of databases, servers and network infrastructure both wired and wireless. Additional role requirements include planning, development and troubleshooting.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement and support a Linux and Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Knowledgeable in the setup and maintenance of DNS, DHCP & VPN Servers.
  • Develop, update and troubleshoot scripts (SHELL, PHP, APACHE,NGINX etc).
  • Compile, customize, install and troubleshoot various Open Source software.
  • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the systems.
  • Proactively monitor database systems, outdoor/industrial wireless infrastructure, servers and services to ensure secure and optimal functionality with minimum downtime.
  • Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
  • Responsible for problem escalation to third parties as appropriate.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of servers, to include rollout and upgrades. Test and apply new software and maintenance patches. 
  • Establishing the user needs and monitoring user access and security.
  • Ensure that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
  • Working closely with the relevant teams in the Flow, LIME and Digicel Markets (i.e. System Administrator team, IP Administration team etc.) and developers and vendors.
  • Developing, managing and testing system backup and recovery plans.
  • Install and assist in maintaining local and remote hardware, as well as software to facilitate business operations of company.
  • Maintain, monitor and safeguard the Company's Local and Wide Area Networks so that the required levels of network operation are maintained.
  • Monitor and analyse the resource usage of the network, and technical resources.
  • Works to ensure that technical/network systems remains operational and are a reliable support for the Company's operations.

  • Exposure and experience in Project Management.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Information Technology, including System Administration
Must also be highly proficient in oral and written communication skills.
