Job Opportunity: Social Media Coordinator


Sun Island Jamaica Limited urgently seeks to identify a suitably qualified and highly competent person to fill the position of Social Media Coordinator.

Training & Core competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or related discipline
  • Certification or demonstrated competence in web development and content management
  • Broad knowledge of the online shopping experience and competitive environment
  • Expert knowledge of how to use and administer top social networks for businesses. (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, YouTube etc.)
  • Working knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and basic HTML coding


Core responsibilities:

  1. To ensure proper functionality, effective and user friendly content; secure and professional presence of company web applications primarily of:
    • Sun Island’s e-commerce web-site
    • Integration of company shopping cart with IMPRESS software
    • Corporate access to company brochures from web-site
    • Intranet
  2. Ensure actions taken to improve the company’s search engine (SEO) ranking. 
  3. Guide and execute strategies to drive customer awareness, engagement and sales growth through social media, and analytics for the company’s e-commerce website. 
  4. Ensure sites are current and relevant with respect to the company’s business seasons, objectives and products.
